Submissions in relation to Public Consultation on Sugar Sweetened Drinks Tax

The Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan TD, announced in Budget 2017 that he would seek to introduce a tax on sugar sweetened drinks in 2018 after a public consultation, making good on the commitment in the Programme for a Partnership Government (PfPG).

Interested parties were invited to make submissions in relation to a tax on the production and importation of sugar-sweetened drinks (SSD). The consultation period ran to 3 January 2017 and 30 written submissions were received, with detailed suggestions.  Submissions are available below.
