The following statement was issued today by the Minister for Finance, Mr Charlie McCreevy, TD. The attached statement of receipts into and issues out of the Exchequer sets out the position for the period 1 January to 30 September 2001.The Returns show an Exchequer surplus of €2,934 (£2,311) million during the first three-quarters of 2001.
