The following statement was issued today by the Minister for Finance, Mr Charlie Mc Creevy, TD. Commenting on the Returns, the Minister said that "These results highlight the continuing soundness of the public finances recording as they do the largest cash surplus ever, and a General Government Surplus of 1.5% of Gross Domestic Product.
