Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan T.D today (Monday 8th September 2008) announced that Boston Scientific Corporation, which specialises in medical devices for use in minimally invasive surgical procedures, is to invest €50 million, with the support of IDA Ireland, in strategic Research and Development at its Galway facility.
The Minister for Finance, Mr Brian Lenihan TD, today published the Annual Report on the National Development Plan (NDP) for 2007. The report has been placed before the Dáil in advance of a full debate next week. In publishing the report the Minister said:

Brian Cowen T.D., Tánaiste and Minister for Finance announced today the appointment of Dr. Brian Hillery and Mr. Dermot O’Brien as Directors of the Central Bank and Financial Services Authority of Ireland. The appointments are to replace Mr. Roy Donovan and Dr. Martin O’ Donoghue who will be stepping down from their positions.
